Unlocking Financial Excellence: Atebubu College of Education Hosts 3-Day GIFMIS Training with Ministry of Finance and CARD
Atebubu College of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CARD), successfully hosted a 3-day training program on the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS). The event took place at the College from 23rd to 25th October, 2024 bringing together key stakeholders from the College along with a team of finance experts including Mad. Catherine Quist, Mr. Brain L. Ayim and Mad. Mercy Amoah Mantey to enhance financial management skills.
The training focused on equipping participants with in-depth knowledge of the GIFMIS platform, ensuring compliance with government financial management regulations and improving the efficiency of public financial management practices. Participants included staff from various departments of the College, who gained hands-on experience in managing financial transactions, budgeting, and reporting through the system.
In her opening remarks, Mad. Catherine Quist, a representative of the Ministry of Finance, emphasized the importance of adopting modern financial systems to promote transparency and accountability in public institutions. The Principal of Atebubu College of Education also expressed gratitude for the opportunity and highlighted the College’s commitment to upholding best financial practices.
